In November 2016 the stand of the Madrid City Council is unveiled at CONAMA. A meta-pavilion that shows Madrid’s environmental policies: reuse, sustainability, second lives, social cohesion, meeting hub, open source and participation. Three letters-furniture starred in this space: MAD. Second life: In April 2017, within Madrid’s Peace Forum, PAZ (peace) letters
In the summer of 2017, the ‘Imagina Madrid’ programme incorporates seven letters as an identifying element: IMAGINA, which travel to each of the 9 activity sites. Second life: From August 2017, IMAGINA has been part of the Matadero Madrid’s equipment. All this new set of urban furniture and public space was built with reuse, meeting and mobility logics. The design is configured by a system of metal frames on wheels, on which reused balloons from Madrid’s old street-lamps are fixed (updated with a solar panel powered LED system), and reclaimed wood from old benches. All of them are materials retrieved from municipal urban furniture warehouses.
